This instructable will show how to make a DIY egg shell planter for growing small plants, saplings or plant cutting at your home.

Person who needs minimalist care for their plants and space, can go with this idea for keeping plants.

This is a great way to gardening inside house and office rooms. It requires a small place to store. Also it provides a home design or garden design idea.

Supplies

Actually we don't need any such tools for the making, but here I used few helping tools that made my job easier.

Step 1: Prepare Eggs

Here, I took few eggs and cut the top with a knife. Then I take out the egg materials from inside and eat them. This way only egg shells are left and that's what only we need.

You can make a small pinhole at the bottom as a excess water drainage.

Step 2: Egg Holder

I used an egg tray hold my eggs or to make a base for keeping our eggs after planting.

I cut out a small piece from the tray, that can hold upto 6 eggs depending upon how many you want and smoothly cut the edges & corners to look good.

There are some ready made egg cartons also available in the market that can hold 6 eggs, but I didn't find them here, so I used a regular egg tray. But professional one looks more pretty.

Step 3: Soil Fillup

Selecting the soil is entirely up to what plants are going to be used.

Different plants require different soil, like coco-peat or compost mixed soil or perlite, potting mix. So, please do your own research on this.

In my case I'm using normal garden soil mixed with cow-dung and it's just fine for the plants I'm using.

So, fill up every egg shell with soil, up to a level.

Step 4: Planting

Next, I choose the above plants and prepared the saplings here before the plantation begins.

I made a hole in the middle so that plants can easily get through the soil. Then I gently pushed the soil around and settled the plant root inside.

I repeat this with every egg pots and thus how I finished the planting process. Now, spray a little water onto them, so that roots get nicely settled in the soil.

Then I mount all the egg pots in our base or holder and finished making.
