Origami bookmarks are not only functional but also charming accessories for your favorite books. In this step-by-step guide, I'll show you how to fold a delightful heart-shaped bookmark. With just a square piece of paper and a few folds, you'll create a lovely bookmark to keep your place in style. Let's begin!

Supplies

Square paper (you can use origami paper, colored paper, or cut a square from any paper)
Scissors (optional, if your paper is not already square)

Step 1: Folding in Half

Fold the paper in half
Unfold and do the same but in the other direction

Step 2: Half Fold

Lay the paper flat an unfolded
Fold the bottom edge to the middle of the paper which is visible from our previous folds

Step 3: Airplane Folds

Flip the paper over on its back
Take the top 2 corners and fold them into the center like a paper airplane.

Step 4: Folding Inwards

Flip it back again to the side that we started on
Fold the left and right sides into the center of the paper creating an upside down triangle above the middle of the paper
Now fold the bottom 2 corners like you would fold a paper airplane

Step 5: Creating the Bottom Point

Bring the bottom point and fold it to the top point, leaving the bottom most layer unfolded.
Crease and fold the middle layers of paper to create 2 small sideways triangles

Step 6: Creating the Top of the Heart

Fold the bottom corners in to create 2 points
Fold those points in to complete the "rounded" part of the top of a heart

Step 7: Complete

Now you are complete with this heart shaped bookmark and it is ready to be used.
