Introduction: Moldable Play Sand

About: I'm a licensed K-8 teacher, current stay at home mom to two lovely little ladies! We're always looking for new ways to use our brains, work our fine and gross motor muscles, and stay busy while having fun!
Quick, easy, and affordable method to whip up moldable sand for fun sensory play!

Supplies

Fine craft sand - mine is from the dollar store
Corn starch
Oil - any oil works. I had olive on hand, but generally prefer baby or coconut. Use what you have!

Step 1: Mix!

Combine sand, starch, and oil in a 5-3-1 ratio. I used 2.5 cups sand, 1.5 cups corn starch, and .5 cups oil in this demonstration.

As you mix, you might find you need to sprinkle a little more cornstarch to get the right consistency.

Step 2: Play!

Enjoy playing in the sand!
